A first for everything

I’ve always been one to keep a journal.  I’m not sure at what age it changes from keeping a diary, to keeping a journal – or for that matter – a journal to a blog.  (Isn’t a blog just a shared electronic journal?  Of course it is.)  The more things change, the more they stay the same, right?

I any case, here it is.  My first blog entry.  Will anyone read it?  Will anyone want to read the random, typically sarcastic and always opinionated entries I make?  I don’t know.  We’ll see.

I have all kinds of thoughts about family, friends, work, kids, politics, religion and life.  I’m creeping up on what Wikipedia will define as “middle aged”  I’m a wife, a sister, a friend and a daughter – sadly, in that order.  I work a 9 to 5 job, I clean my own house and do my own yard work.  I’m the first to admit there is absolutely nothing spectacular about my life.  Sure, there’s all kinds of every day drama, but even my worst days or situations are better than the best of so many.  Of course, it never feels that way at the time, but I’m rational enough to see that today while I’m sipping coffee, peeking through the plantation shutters to see our little 5 acre piece of heaven in a rural farming community where we farm cherries and plant a vegetable garden each year all inside a white picket fence.

I suppose if anyone really wanted to know my take on any given subject, they would ask me…but you see, there lies the conundrum….they usually don’t have to ask me.  You see, I always wear my heart – and my thoughts – on my sleeve.
